Things to do

Sauvies Island is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts. Weather you love fishing, bird watching, hiking, kayaking, cycling, swimming, photography, beach combing, visiting local farms, farm to table dinners, or hunting, the island has you covered!

Reeder Beach is located within a few miles of warm water fishing from the dock at Gilbert River. Catfish, trout, bass and crappie are among the few species to be caught.

The Columbia River is a great place for seasonal salmon and sturgeon fishing.

There are many public beaches just right down the road including, Willow Bar, Walton (also known as Social Security Beach), Collins (clothing optional) and North Unit. The parking lot of North Unit beach is also the trail head for the Warrior Rock Lighthouse trail. A 3 mile beautiful trek each way, this hike is mostly flat and a must for hiking enthusiasts.

Watch and listen to the birds from one of the many wildlife viewing areas where you may see the Great Blue Heron, Sand Hill Crane, Canadian Geese, Tundra Swans, Hawks, Eagles and more. In the spring watch the Osprey rebuild their nests in preparation of raising and training their young in August and September, right from your RV site!

Sauvies Island has many seasonal u pick farms where you can pick from an assortment of fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables or reserve a farm to table dinner at one of the many local farms. Ask for a local farms directory when you check in!
